This Privacy Policy explains how Volumix ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit volumix.co (the "Site"), use the Volumix software, or purchase the Faderbox hardware.

By using the Site or any of our services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

Information you provide directly

  • Waitlist signup: email address
  • Order placement: name, shipping address, email address, phone number (optional, for shipping carrier use)
  • Optional account creation: email address and password
  • Contact form or email: any information you choose to send us

Information collected automatically

  • IP address (used for security, fraud prevention, and approximate location for shipping estimates)
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages you visit and how long you stay
  • Referring website (how you found us)
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy)

Payment information

When you purchase the Faderbox, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not collect, store, or have access to your full payment card details. Stripe handles all payment processing. We receive only a confirmation of payment and the last 4 digits of your card for transaction reference.

Information we do not collect

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information such as government identification numbers, financial account numbers (other than via Stripe), health information, or biometric data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Fulfill your orders and ship products to you
  • Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and tracking information
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
  • Send you waitlist updates and product announcements (only if you opted in)
  • Process refunds and warranty claims
  • Improve the Site, the Software, and our products
  • Detect and prevent fraud or unauthorized access
  • Comply with legal obligations (tax records, etc.)

We do not use your information for purposes beyond those listed without your consent.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

  • Stripe — payment processing (privacy policy)
  • Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) — transactional and marketing emails (privacy policy)
  • Cloudflare — website hosting, security, and content delivery (privacy policy)
  • Shipping carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.) — we share your name and shipping address to deliver your order
  • FluentCRM — email list management (self-hosted on our infrastructure)

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or any other purpose.

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights, the safety of others, or to prevent fraud.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some features of the Site (such as staying logged in to your account).

7. How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and meet legal obligations:

  • Waitlist subscribers: until you unsubscribe
  • Customer order records: at least 12 months after delivery (warranty period), and up to 4 years for tax and accounting purposes
  • Account information: as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.
  • Support correspondence: typically up to 2 years from last contact

When information is no longer needed, we either delete it or anonymize it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: request a copy of the information we hold about you
  • Correction: ask us to fix inaccurate information
  • Deletion: ask us to delete your information (subject to legal obligations like tax records)
  • Portability: receive your information in a portable format
  • Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your information
  • Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdraw consent: revoke consent for marketing emails at any time (by clicking unsubscribe or contacting us)

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information:

  • All connections to our Site use HTTPS (SSL/TLS encryption)
  • Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
  • Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant
  • Access to customer information is limited to what is necessary

No internet transmission is 100% secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach occurs that affects your information, we will notify you promptly as required by law.

11. International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States. If you are outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

Our third-party service providers (Stripe, Brevo, Cloudflare) operate globally and may process your data in multiple jurisdictions. They each have safeguards in place for international data transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses where required by EU law.

12. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

13. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature. There is no industry standard for honoring DNT signals, so we do not currently respond to them. We will update this section if a standard is adopted.

14. Third-Party Links

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites (such as our GitHub repository or social media). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Please review their privacy policies before providing them with any information.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects when changes were made. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, by posting a notice on the Site or sending an email).

Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
