Windows audio mixing is broken.

Volume bars buried six menus deep. Discord blasting while your game is whisper-quiet. Streaming software that won't behave. Every gamer, streamer, and producer knows the dance.

  • ×Alt-tab purgatory. Adjust Spotify, alt-tab. Adjust Discord, alt-tab. Adjust your game, alt-tab. Repeat forever.
  • ×Hidden volume mixer. Windows' Volume Mixer is buried in settings, slow to open, and resets when apps restart.
  • ×No quick mute. Someone calls? Mic was hot during a private moment? You're frantically clicking while the damage compounds.
  • ×Generic mixers don't fit. Stream Deck buttons aren't faders. MIDI controllers don't talk to Windows audio. Nothing's purpose-built.
// THE FIX

A real mixing console for everything Windows can hear.

Faderbox sits on your desk. Five physical faders. Five mute buttons. Each one bound to whatever app you want — Spotify, Discord, your game, your mic, OBS, your DAW.

Slide a fader. App volume changes instantly. Tap a button. App mutes. No alt-tab. No menu diving. No friction.

Powered by Volumix, our free Windows app. Just plug in over USB-C and it works.

Built like the gear you actually want on your desk.

Every component picked deliberately. No corners cut, no plastic toy parts. Built to feel as good as it works.

5 motorized-feel faders

60mm linear potentiometers with smooth, weighted travel. The same kind you'd find on professional broadcast mixers — not the gritty plastic sliders in cheap consumer gear.

60mm · linear taper · 100kΩ

5 mechanical mute buttons

Hot-swap MX-compatible sockets. Use the switches we ship with, or pop in your favorite linear, tactile, or clicky switches. Yours to customize forever.

MX-compatible · hot-swap · per-key wiring

Interchangeable keycaps

Swap them whenever you want. Use blank caps for a minimal look, or label them with your most-used apps. MX-compatible means thousands of options.

MX-compatible profile · pull-and-replace

Per-key RGB LEDs

SK6812 addressable RGB under each mute button. Reflects your channel state — green when active, red when muted, off when nothing's bound. Configurable in Volumix.

5× SK6812 · 16M colors · individually addressable

Custom PCB

Designed in-house. Built around the ESP32-S3 microcontroller — same family used in commercial audio gear. Future firmware updates flash over USB.

ESP32-S3 · 4-layer PCB · OTA firmware

Plug-and-play USB-C

One braided cable to your PC. No drivers, no installer wizards, no troubleshooting. Volumix detects Faderbox the moment you plug it in.

Questions worth answering.

When does Faderbox ship?

Faderbox is built to order — each unit ships roughly 1-2 weeks after you configure and check out, plus shipping time to your door. Open the configurator to get started.

How much does it cost?

$99, plus shipping — $15 for the US, $30 international. The price you see in the configurator is what you pay at checkout, no surprises.

Will it work on Mac or Linux?

Volumix and Faderbox are Windows 10 / 11 only right now. The hardware speaks standard USB serial, so the door isn't closed on cross-platform support — just no promises and no timeline yet.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — worldwide. Shipping rates calculate at checkout based on your country. EU and UK orders include IOSS where applicable so there are no surprise customs fees on delivery.

What's the warranty?

12-month manufacturer warranty against hardware defects. If something fails on us, we replace it. Hot-swap parts are designed to be user-serviceable, so most issues you can fix yourself anyway.

Can I return it if I don't like it?

Each Faderbox is built to your custom spec, so we can't restock returned units. If yours arrives defective or damaged, we replace it free. Otherwise, all sales are final — please configure carefully.

Why is the software free but the hardware isn't?

Software costs nothing to copy, so keeping Volumix free is easy. Hardware costs us real money in parts, labor, and shipping — that's what Faderbox's price covers. If you just want the software, Volumix works great entirely on its own, no hardware required.
